Reaching the end of the course and calculating my credits:

It is a nice feeling that I am at the final stages of my course at college. But finishing is not enough as I have conditions to meet of my offer letter. I have finished most of the assignments and have some of my grades back and waiting for some others to be back.
There are a few numbers of assignments left to work on. Assignments which I need to put a lot of efforts on. They need to be as perfect as possible as with the grades I have I am not currently meeting the conditions of my offer letter.
It makes me a bit disappointed as I feel I tried my best but just cannot get credits in merit!! I admit I don’t have the ability to do assignments in a way my native English colleagues do. But I am still proud of myself that I am studying such a difficult course in a language which is not even the second but it is the third spoken language in my country.
Overall, I am surprised that there are some assignments that I don’t need to do as I have collected the required credits. Therefore, I don’t have to do systems analysis assignments and the rest of the assignments of Math. But I have to do my best in doing the few assignments that are left in order to achieve 15 credits in merit at level 3. This is my last chance to let my dreams come true and to join Uni in September.

UCAS decision time:

Luckily I got four offer letters out of five chosen courses at Sheffield Hallam University. However, the conditions of my offer letter are worrying me a little bit, but I am still feeling over the moon.
I got offers from the following courses:
<!--[if !supportLists]-->Ø  <!--[endif]-->Computing
<!--[if !supportLists]-->Ø  <!--[endif]-->Computer and Network Engineering
<!--[if !supportLists]-->Ø  <!--[endif]-->Applied Computing
<!--[if !supportLists]-->Ø  <!--[endif]-->Computer-Aided Design Technology
But already made my decisions to firm (Computer and Network Engineering) and insure(Computer-Aided Design Technology) and declined the rest of the offers, now got to work harder to meet the conditions of my offer letter … Fingers crossed.

  • Basically I was apply for different course at Sheffield Hallam, but in my view I would like accept computer and network engineering   because this is the best way to successful way in my life, however I am an international student study in the Uk is not easy for me but actually I would like study computer and network engineering  this is my dream, then in my country we have the high salary for anyone have  computer and network engineering  qualification the beast thing are available for them, that is why I am doing this >>>>
  • Another thing why I am chose Sheffield Hallam? Because I am living in Sheffield since 2008 until now my family so happy living in Sheffield, Sheffield is the nice city in my opinion people from Sheffield are very friendly and nice we are so happy in Sheffield…

Updates on my UCAS application form

I had discussed the choices of the courses and the universities with my wife as well as my sponsor back in my country, and I sent them all the details about the courses at Sheffield Hallam University that I was going to apply for through UCAS.  The university’s website (http://www.shu.ac.uk )
gives a great deal of information about the courses they provide.  This made the process of familiarising my sponsor with my courses very easy.
After considering all the courses that was interested in and after making an agreement with my sponsor I could come into a decision.
With a lot of support from Sheffield City College’s UCAS application support team I could fill out my form and submit it.
As to the courses and the university I found the computer related courses at Sheffield Hallam University very interesting. And having previously studying an English course at Sheffield Hallam University I felt happier and more confident to make all choices at that University. I am already familiar with the universities IT and Library facilities; I have built up a great relationship with international support team at the university as well as the members of Hallam student union.

I think it is time to say thank you my tutor … Thank you for your precious modules too…

Sometimes I feel I owe my tutors so much as I learned so much from them, I now feel fulfilled and very well equipped to join university.
I’ve had great modules throughout the course that I feel confident enough to call them my precious modules. They are precious as they taught me a lot. They are precious as they built up a strong base of knowledge for me.
For instance, I would regard business organisation module a one of my precious modules as it taught me more about organisations and legislations regarding using computer and IT services in different organisations.  This was a sort of module that I enjoyed not only for gaining grades and credits but also to learn valuable information that I would need for the rest of my carrier life.
Therefore, I think it is time to say THANK YOU MY TUTERS.

My Maths!!!

It seemed really hard for me at the beginning of my access course when started studying Maths in English. While me classmates were busy doing assignments. I had to learn to recognise the basic signs as they are totally different from the Math I used to study. I had to learn the mathematical vocabularies in English.
With passing time I found myself doing assignments and exams in Math and could gain a reasonable 6 credits at level 3 as well as 3 other credits in level 2 .
What a great achievement!! However, I should have done better grade wise, but I feel I tried my best and that is a relief in some other ways of thinking. Fantastic!!!!

Come on Computer systems module give me a hope!!

Have submitted Hardware assignment and waiting for my grade,

But I am putting a lot of hope on my next assignment of this module ( Networking) to get at least merit... FINGERS CROSSED

SWOT

Strength
weakness
·         I am very good for web design and crate by front page.
·         I am very good and understand networking.
·         I am totally understood in software and kind of computer component.

·    Iam international student
·    English language is not easy for me, because English is the third language in my country.

Personal statement

 Personal statement

My deep personal interest in computer studies started when my father put me in charge to help
my elder sister and brother with their computer modules at high schools when I was only 13.
Their computer modules had always been the subject of discussion on dinner times. They always
had problems with the modules. I remember once I picked my sister's computer book up and I had
a look at it. I was surprised with the mistake she made in her computer exam. I told her if
she has ever had a look at the instructions in her book she would not have made that mistake.
My father sighed and said that from then and on I would be their computer teacher at home.
Then, I was so proud of myself and was not able to differentiate between my father's
seriousness in what he said. But my father's speech was a source to give me power to choose,
in my only 13th, what I am going to study in the future. When I arrived in the UK I realized
that studying computer in a foreign is going to be hard. My wife gave birth to our son only 23
days before she starts her MA in the UK. I suddenly found myself as a fulltime father, this
was apart from all the supports my wife needed during her study. Consequently, I obliged to
put my thoughts of my study aside for a while, as I was struggling to find enough time for my
academic study. However I have started to improve my English first, but being a fulltime
father at the same time was always on obstacle for making the ends meet. But I am rather proud
for being called by my wife and my parents 'a father and a student who never gives up'. After
along time of waiting I ended up as an enrolled student of 'English Language' student at
Sheffield Hallam University. Obtaining 6 over all and with no less than 6 in each element in
the English course have given me a great sense of fulfillment. This has encouraged me to do my
best in College too.
Studying both computer and mathematics at college has helped me to know more about myself. I
find these subjects interesting and I would enjoy the challenge of studying subjects that can
be difficult for other students. As a result of my studies, I have realised how challenging,
rational and creative I am. I am quite happy that my current course at the college will equips
me with a great amount of knowledge about computer studies in my under graduate course at
university. I am feeling that I am one step away from starting the study of my dream. I look
forward to continuing my studies and investigating computer programs and technological
information in more detail. This personal interest in this program of study is further
affected by a factor of my whereabouts in the world. Living in Kurdistan in such a critical
period of Kurdish people's life in the region made me realise that I need to do something that
benefits both me and my community. Our region is a developing region. It is a region
recovering from ten of years of suffering under the rule of the past regime. However, our
region is well gifted by natural resources, but this would not be enough for the process of
developing of our region. We need to develop individual skills in order to use our natural
resources effectively for the benefits of all. Computing and networking are going to be the
core of the development plan. Further studying computing in my undergraduate course would give
me an opportunity to gain the honour in participating in that process of improvement and
development of my country. Studying for an undergraduate degree in computing will give me a
chance to be an effective character in the process of my country's process of development.
Finally, it is not only the subject that will grant me a chance to be recognised individual,
deciding to do my undergraduate course abroad would be a better chance for me for
strengthening my personality and gaining more self-confidence.

My UCAS Application…

Shall I call it the strangest experience I’ve ever had in my life??!!! Don’t know why but it was not easy for me for some reasons;
I suddenly found myself studying and doing assignments and exams with an educational system totally different from what I used to deal with. Above all these APPLYING TO UNI THROUGH UCAS!!!!  God ….. That was new and different for me…
I guess it would have been easier for me if I have had job applications with CV’s before, but unfortunately I haven’t done these things previously….
Moreover, I have to decide which courses to choose and at what universities… This will take a while for me for sure, but will give updates in my upcoming updates about my UCAS application form.
